Hey folks,
Isn't God good!! Haywood County has been blessed with one of the finest christian men I know. The more I get to know him, the more impressed I am with him. I'm referring to Mr. Marlon King, our new Director of Schools. Having had the opportunity on several occasions to simply sit and talk to him, I can't help but be impressed with the depth of his knowledge on education and the "VISION" he has for our Haywood County Scool system. Many wonderul changes are coming up in the future and it will be exciting to see them enacted. What you might not know is that the most important thing on his agenda is building a relationship with the hometown folks right in here in our school system. This includes teachers, students, parents, grandparents, other family members that might influence a student, community members, and incorporating the faith based ministries of our community into our schools. WOW!! Now that's refreshing! If you get a chance stop by and speak to him and welcome him back to his hometown, I know he would love to speak with you. That is if you can catch him. He spends a tremendous amount of time in our actual schools. From a teacher's standpoint, I can tell you that seeing him walk the halls of my school is something that really excites the teachers of Haywood County. Until next time....God bless each of you.
